Propak scooped two of the ten awards at this years Schueco Excellence Awards – ‘Best Steel Project’ and ‘Best Commercial Building’.
This is the second consecutive year that Propak have been awarded the Best Steel project, emphasizing our position as the leading UK fabricator of the Schuco Jansen steel system.
The awards are to recognize excellence in the design, collaborative working and innovation in the use of Schueco products. This year saw an all-time high both in terms of submissions and in terms of quality.
Propak have been appointed by BAM Construction to design, manufacture and install a large range steel glazing systems for the project at Coal Drops, Kings Cross.
Built in the 1850s, the Coal Drops were for receiving and sorting coal as it arrived from the north of England by train. Now the Victorian brick arches are being brought back to life in a design from Heatherwick Studio with Propak developing a range of glazing systems that brings together the industrial heritage with exciting contemporary architecture.
Over the past 3 years we have invested in excess of £1.6m in new machinery to ensure that our manufacturing capabilities are highly efficient and to make certain that products are the highest quality possible.
Our latest addition, due to be delivered April 2016, is a £50,000 CNC Automated Double Headed Mitre Saw giving us the ability to cut large box section up to 350mm in both Steel & Aluminium.
Propak employees have trained to become Certified Revit Professionals allowing us to offer our customers the option to integrate our product designs in to their BIM model for future use.
